I know there is special baby detergent to use, but I was wondering if it was safe to use dryer sheets. Does anyone know if you should or shouldn't use the sheets in the dryer? I am expecting my first baby in about 4 weeks!

Do not use dryer sheets with your babies clothes. It is entirely unnecessary to use them at all! There is no need for extra chemicals or perfumes on the baby's clothes. If you think that the clothes will not be soft enough add vinegar to the rinse (it is a natural fabric softener and will not leave your clothes smelly!) or buy dryer balls (I use some from Nellies). Also, don't bother using Dreft or Ivory Snow "special baby detergent" all of them contain perfumes which can be irritating to babies nose and skin. Use a scent, dye and enzyme free detergent on all of your household's laundry. Your baby will be in very close contact with all of your clothing too!
I use dryer sheets all the time, I dont see why you can't
don't use them. Your new baby's skin will be very sensitive. He/she will need their clothes washed in Dreft ( or a product like it) and the dryer sheets have perfume etc. Don't worry they will be soft enough. Good luck and enjoy your baby!!
As long as baby doesn't break out with them they are fine….. Some baby's have sensitive skin so just watch and make sure yours doesn't…….
I know the side of my dryer sheet box says "Not for use on children's clothes or sleepwear labeled as flame resistant as it may reduce flame resistance."
I have never used them…
no
the sheets will irritate the baby's sensitive skin thats why the have to use the baby detergent
I used the Bounce "free and clear" dryer sheets on my sons clothes and there was never an issue. They are basically free of all dyes and perfumes.
I accidentally did last week, and ended up having to re-wash all of his clothes. He started breaking out in a rash, I tried to dismiss it, but after two days, I decided it must be the sheets. Sure enough I re-washed and no rash.
yes just use unscented ones
i always used dryer sheet with my son and nothing happened and i always used regular detergent never special i couldn't afford it and my sons cloths where fine it didn't irritate him i really didn't see the point except to make them last longer but he outgrew them so fast i didn't really matter
yup.
